Romeo held a spontaneous Quiplash night on Twitch. I used a David Letterman and a Johnny Carson reference in two of my answers.

For the prompt "What Bigfoot talks about with his therapist," I said that Bigfoot "doesn't have a powerful stench." This was from a David Letterman monologue joke I remembered from around 1987.

For the prompt "A good catchphrase to say after taking the biggest dump of your life," I went with "El Mouldo has done it again!" El Mouldo was a Johnny Carson character who was a hack magician.

I turned on channel 57-4 today and saw AntennaTV was broadcasting! I set up my DVR to record Johnny Carson's shows. Looking at the schedule for next year, I didn't see the 90-minute (1970s) weekend episodes listed. Hopefully those can be brought back another time. It's nice to have two classic TV channels next to each other (Laff on 57-3 and AntennaTV on 57-4.)

It looks like a TV channel I've always wanted is finally being added locally. I re-scanned my TV and found "Antenna TV" listed for channel 57.4. At the moment, there is only a "Coming soon" message with a slideshow of the various programs the network airs.

Today and yesterday, I bought some meats, peppers and other ingredients to make calzones using my leftover frozen phyllo dough.

A new Telegram group was started for Colorado Springs-area furries. Hopefully this group won't get torn apart by alt-right assholes.

I just hooked up my portable DVR to my TV. Now I can watch the shows I recorded off Denver TV in August. I don't receive the Antenna TV channel locally, so it was nice to see complete episodes of Johnny Carson again. In a 1986 episode, Johnny showed off some of the items from the NBC Store at the time. With all the inflation since then, it was amusing to hear Johnny get shocked at some of the prices ("TEN BUCKS FOR A T-SHIRT?!") He also mentioned Pink Lady & Jeff when talking about canceled shows.

Even though Karl Malden had a long-running acting career, I mainly remembered him as "that big-nosed guy from the American Express Travelers Checks commercials." That memory was further embedded into my brain thanks to a brilliant impersonation by Johnny Carson. Here is Carson's parody of a Malden commercial (including some outtakes.)

I know this is a couple days late, but thinking about Thanksgiving brought this 1979 exchange from "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" to mind. Johnny had forgotten that Doc was no longer married, and Doc's remarks drove Johnny to tears of laughter.

EDIT (8/15/2014): Here is the video from Johnny Carson's official YouTube, so this one should stay up!
