My credit card is on life support
Apr. 18th, 2006 12:48 amI've applied for a $2500 loan with my credit union to help get my credit card balance below the limit. It's an 18-month loan, meaning I'd pay $140-150 per month. I hope this is low enough to get approved, and I hope the negative checking balances I had recently won't affect my chances. I had applied for much higher loans in the past (when I wanted to participate in an auction for available radio frequencies) and been rejected.
I had to pay cash at the last gas station I went to, so I don't know if the station's credit card machine was out of order or my card was just declined. I only had $20 on me, which only bought half a tank of gas. I read that state lawmakers are trying to get the gas tax lowered in an effort to lower prices at the pump.
I contacted a couple more people on my list of prospects for my web business. One of them said he didn't want to use up his cell phone minutes, so I sent him an e-mail version of my sales pitch. Many of my prospects are keen on joining the company; it's just a matter of officially signing them in order to "turn the money on," as the company says.
