A couple of the furry artists I commisioned are in Europe. They don't seem to understand the time difference between Europe and America because they keep messaging me on Telegram between 3 and 5 AM when I'm usually asleep. The only time I see those messages is when I need to get up to pee. There really is no excuse for this when sites like worldtimezone.com can tell them the current time in any location.

I got awakened by one of the furry artists who did a ref sheet for me. Even though I corrected the artist, the ref sheet still incorrectly refers to Jerzei as a "border collie/fox hybrid." The artist tried to hit me up for more money, but I refused.

On Friday, I made some macaroni and cheese for dinner using my mom's recipe.

During the Rabbit Hole, the Second Life server disconnected around 3:45. I was able to reconnect a minute or two later.

Another round of snow is happening today. The snow is much heavier this time. The weekend and next week will be back in the 50s and 60s, with some low 70s the following week.

People were messaging me on Telegram around 6:00 this morning. I kept hearing Max Headroom's voice from The Art of Noise's "Paranoimia" saying "Please let me sleep."

My dad just e-mailed me saying the condo association hasn't received my monthly HOA payment. It turns out I had written the check and put it in the envelope but forgot to mail it. I looked around my condo, found the envelope and put it in the mail today.

UPDATE: Dad called saying I need to send an additional $22.67 to the condo association for a late fee. I had written another check and was ready to put that in the mail tonight when Dad called back. He said the association wouldn't charge me the late fee after all.

I got a DM on Telegram this morning from someone who said he found me on the Barq app. I don't use that app. This person is obviously just messaging random people. I have a notice on my Telegram profile in all caps saying "No DM's unless I know you." I'll just ignore this person.

I found a Saturday Night Live sketch that had eluded me two years ago. The season 12 episode hosted by Joe Montana and Walter Payton started with a parody of the "Super Bowl Shuffle" called "We Are the Kickers." This sketch and others were cut out of the episode on the streaming services I browsed. I was able to find the complete episode today on the Internet Archive.

I'm almost halfway packed for the trip to Furry Fiesta. I need to pick up a few more items today.

My front porch light was playing possum with me a moment ago. I thought the bulb was burned out, but it turned on again as I was unscrewing the glass cover to change the bulb.

I was watching a Twitch stream featuring a furry from Argentina and a furry from Germany, both in VR Chat. Near the end of the stream, the German streamer actually fell asleep since it was past midnight for him. He woke up about 12 minutes later, then logged out to go back to sleep.

I got lunch from Whataburger yesterday. I got a 9-piece container of boneless buffalo wings, which Whataburger recently began selling. Since it's January, the Dr. Pepper shake is back for 2-3 months.

Before Sunday's show, WikiFur didn't come up for me for an hour or two. I'm glad it worked before my show started. I get my list of the week's furry conventions from this site.

I did another drawing for the WebGuest during Radiolawn, but the WebGuest got disconnected before I could finish it. I'll save it for next week.

I ran out of coffee on Sunday. I ordered some more to pick up on Tuesday, along with some coffee cakes and pizzas.

I decided to keep Facebook Messenger on my phone. I unfriended the two people who sent me spam messages since it's clear they weren't actual friends.

I think I might just uninstall Facebook Messenger from my cell phone. I've gotten two messages from people on my friends list trying to sign me up for assistance programs (which are likely scams.) I do communicate via Messenger with some of the people going on next October's cruise. I guess I'll just have to chat with them on my laptop whenever I'm on Facebook.

I spent some time unclogging the drain in my bathtub Sunday night. Every time I try to clean my tub, the drain backs up due to being full of hair and other crap (literally.) I managed to get most of that out so the water would actually drain. The front of the tub is now clean, and I'll take care of the back tonight or Tuesday.

Ten or more years ago, there used to be an IRC chatter during Funday Pawpets, Radio Unifurse and the Rabbit Hole who lived in Pueblo, Colorado and was a white wolf. I was supposed to see him in person years ago at a Denver event, but he was unable to make it. Another former IRC chatter I remember was a corgi who would announce that he was launching himself across the room with his farts. I don't know why I suddenly remembered those two chatters, but they just appeared in my memory.

Just as a reminder, I'm unable to attend DenFur this year due to financial reasons.

While reading a Telegram chat for furry fans of game shows, I remembered that Rocky Mountain Fur Con 2015 had a game show theme. I responded to another fur who wanted to do The Price Is Right at RMFC. Back then, I didn't know there were computerized versions of the TPIR games available (Neither did the other fur, apparently.) My old-school mind had been searching the internet for sites to buy things to build the games from scratch like large dice, LED displays and materials for a "Big Wheel." I even downloaded music like the opening theme and the Cliffhangers' yodeling song. The fur later canceled his plans for the show.

I've dreamed about going on real game shows since I was a teenager. Unfortunately, I think I'm too old for what most shows are looking for now. I also don't have as much energy as I used to, so I'd probably seem boring to the producers and talent scouts.

I am typing this entry on my cell phone because my internet went out on Saturday afternoon. CenturyLink estimates that it won't be back online until Sunday morning.

I went to a meetup at the wine bar above the La Baguette bakery. The lot behind the building used to have free parking, but drivers now have to pay to park. Someone in my group ordered a pot of fondue to share. I also ordered a mozzarella salad and a slice of almond cake.

Whoops!

I inadvertently got banned from the Pawpet IRC channel this morning. Boomer was talking about the Peteena the poodle doll from the 1960s. I found a picture of the doll's box that described her as a "swinger" and thought it would be funny to share. Unfortunately, the IRC's spambot filter saw the page link I posted and kicked me out. Ricochet said he was also banned for posting the show's link in the topic.

Speaking of Pawpet IRC, one of the chatters who asked me to record the first part of Doggy Radio for them asked me to send the audio files via Telegram instead of Discord. This is actually easier because Telegram has a 2 GB limit for sending files, compared to only 25 MB for Discord. I have to split the file into two or three files and resample them at a lower rate to send on Discord.

I'm glad the internet has sites where I can look for substitutes for ingredients I don't have. Sometimes I would get a container of an ingredient to use for one recipe, then forget about the rest of the container until it goes bad. For one of my snack recipes, I can just use the vegetable oil I already have instead of spending $8-12 for a bottle of avocado oil.

I heard about the new churro-flavored Kit Kat bars a while back, but I couldn't find them in any stores. I bought a box of them online. They taste very close to actual churros, with their creamy chocolate coating and cinnamon sugar wafers.

Romeo was having technical problems at the start of his show, so he asked me to take over. It took a little bit to get connected and running, then I switched between parts of old shows and newer music.

Over the weekend, I got a box of Bisquick mix, plus milk and eggs, to make some of the pies from my Bisquick cookbook. I made a turkey taco pie last night. It was supposed to be a chicken taco pie, but I only had turkey.

An online talk show I like played some audio of the host undergoing ketamine therapy. This is one of the therapies I'm considering trying to cure my depression. The only other reference to ketamine I'm familiar with is the episode of That's My Bush! where George W. Bush accidentally takes ketamine and Marcia Wallace's character spins around saying "I'm in a K hole!"
jcollie719: (Jamie pawpet)
I initially thought Romeo would be taking this weekend off to prepare for Anthrocon. I slept in a bit, then saw his Twitter post about this weekend's shows when I got up to pee. Romeo also mentioned Matt the Martian Mouse Rat would be resuming "The Night Shift" in a few weeks.

Even though I still can't afford it, I saw a revised sale listing for a southern Colorado radio station. The price was reduced from $500,000 to $300,000.

I've been posting about my Ko-Fi account on other sites. I'm hoping to raise $1,350 for a set of professional radio equipment for a home studio. My page's address is ko-fi.com/collieradio.

Since I had missed the last two FoxTrot meets, I didn't know the Denver Sweet bar had pushed back its kitchen's closing time from 10 PM to 9 PM. I usually order dinner when FoxTrot begins at 9:00. I left around 11:15 so I could get dinner on the way home. From now on, I'll need to have a light dinner before heading to FoxTrot.

I think this is the first fill-in show using my upgraded internet. So far so good!

I got lots of rain and thunder this week. The power in my condo actually flickered a few seconds on Friday. In a way, that was good because I discovered my Echo Dot was disconnected. It still had my old Wifi in its memory. I entered the new Wifi and had the device tell me a joke: "What is a cupcake's favorite weather? Sprinkles!"

I'll be going to the FoxTrot meet tonight in Denver. The temperature will be in the 50s and low-60s during the meet. I'll just wear my light jacket with the partial parts of my suit. I missed the last two FoxTrots, so it will be good to see the Denver furries again.

Just 6 days until I leave for Pittsburgh! My flight should land around 3:30 PM Thursday, then I should get to the hotel around 5:30-6:00. I'd most likely be able to meet with Boomer later that night, Friday afternoon around 2:00-5:00, or late Friday evening after 9:30. My singles group is having a 7:30 dinner on Thursday; I said "maybe" to that just in case. I wanted to be available Saturday night after the Pirates/Mets game, but I have an early flight on Sunday.

Pluto TV recently added two channels for game shows. Last year, they launched a channel called The Price Is Right: The Barker Era, currently showing episodes from 1983-1985. A new companion channel airs TPIR episodes from Drew Carey's first seasons. It's hard to believe Drew's hosted the show for 15-16 years already! Another new channel is airing Family Feud episodes from the Richard Dawson and Ray Combs eras.
