jcollie719: (Pug Having a Sad)
For the Rabbit Hole, I will need to take March 28th off as well. Back when the show was on Sundays, I was free to drive my dad to church on Saturdays. After the show moved to Saturdays, the driving was done by my brother and sister-in-law. Both of them will be going on a cruise over the next 7-8 days, so that means I'm the only one left to drive Dad to church tonight and next Saturday.

The depression part is knowing my dad will be very disappointed that my tax refund vanished within a week because it was supposed to last four months. The furry artists had started asking me to leave reviews for them on Fiverr by pretending to order more art. I thought they would use the money to pay down what I owed them for the art I actually ordered, but that wasn't the case. I sold some of my stocks from my Stash account to pad my account a little, but that is also running low. I really hate myself for allowing myself to be manipulated like this. I've been working extra DoorDash and UberEats shifts to make back at least a little money.

As the title says, I will not be doing a Rabbit Hole show this Saturday. I need to run an errand during RH's normal show time. I've also been feeling depressed and unable to focus on creating a show. I'm hoping to be back the following Saturday, March 28. If not, I will definitely be back on April 4.
jcollie719: (Birthday Collie)
Happy Birthday to "Bird One" of Avian Invasion (a.k.a. Matthew Ebel.) He's doing a special Twitch stream today. After he's done, I'll watch DJ SQWRL do his usual Tuesday mashup stream.

I got awakened by one of the furry artists who did a ref sheet for me. Even though I corrected the artist, the ref sheet still incorrectly refers to Jerzei as a "border collie/fox hybrid." The artist tried to hit me up for more money, but I refused.

On Friday, I made some macaroni and cheese for dinner using my mom's recipe.

During the Rabbit Hole, the Second Life server disconnected around 3:45. I was able to reconnect a minute or two later.

There was some rain and snow last night. Most of the snow had melted before noon.

As I feared, the furry artist whose Telegram account was frozen signed up again under a new name. The first thing this jerk did was give me another "surprise" artwork I didn't want or need.
jcollie719: (Airplane Johnny unplug)
The good news is my computer didn't freeze at all during today's Rabbit Hole. The bad news is I got the Blue Screen of Death about 15 minutes after the show. I'll have to do a scan later to see if anything needs to be updated.

My show yesterday was about 98% smooth. There were a couple times where the audio stuttered a little and once when my computer froze for a few seconds. At least I don't have to piece the show together from several files.

I'm still waiting for the last of my tax documents to arrive so I can finish filing my taxes.

I read an article saying northern California could get up to 8 feet of snow this week. Here in Colorado, there was some rain and snow in Monument yesterday. After Monday, high temperatures will slowly get colder and reach the upper-30s by Saturday.
jcollie719: Art by Nicole (Jerzei Subaru)
I noticed the furry artist I got some art from either deleted his account or had it locked by Telegram. While I liked his art, he kept claiming I hadn't paid for some of the art when I had. At least I don't have to worry about blocking him unless he creates a new account.

Tomorrow, I need to make copies of my will. Dad asked me to put one copy in his safe deposit box and give another copy to my niece, who is my beneficiary.

I started The Rabbit Hole an hour late today. I was supposed to pick up some groceries an hour before the show, but my pick-up order wasn't ready until 50 minutes later. The store refunded $5 of my bill for the delay. My computer froze during the pre-show, but everything was smooth afterward. I took JaSonic's advice and defragmented my laptop's hard drive after the show.
jcollie719: (Weird Al Headbanger)
I ordered a belated Christmas gift for myself: a DVD of "Weird Al" Yankovic's "The Compleat Al."

Romeo Rabbit announced his "Weekly Hop 20" show will be coming back soon. This will help me with programming The Rabbit Hole.

I may have to block one of the artists who did furry art for me. He lied to me today by saying I had agreed to pay for art of my fursona on a motorcycle. Looking at the private chat, I told him "No thank you. I can't right now." That is nowhere close to an agreement. The artist did the art anyway and charged me for it. I will give him one more warning that I cannot and will not commission any more art, and I will block him if he refuses to listen.

Instead of actually going to Costco, I arranged to have Instacart deliver some Costco food to me. The driver had a bit of trouble finding my front door, having driven around to the opposite side of the building.

While the recent "furry show shuffle" has me feeling a bit down, I'm trying to put a positive spin on parts of it. One big positive is I don't have to worry as much about my volume since I'll now be doing my show mostly in the afternoon instead of late at night. Other positives with cutting the show down to four hours is I can program each show a bit faster and only use two sheets of paper for the playlist instead of three. I didn't plan a birthday set for my December 20th show and I put more furry songs in the playlist. I wanted to update Romeo Rabbit about The Rabbit Hole, but he's deleted the Telegram and Discord accounts he recently used.

FoxTrot is tonight. I'm not really in the mood to go out, so I'll stay in and play in Steelwoulfe's Jackbox Games night.

Variety is the spice of life, I guess. The changes that are happening this coming weekend make me wish Romeo Rabbit was still hosting The Rabbit Hole. Trying to make everyone happy just ended up backfiring on me.

I'm unsure whether to keep The Rabbit Hole on Sunday nights or possibly move it to Saturdays, maybe from 4-8 PM Eastern. Going from 2-6 PM on Sundays (before the Funday Pawpets) wouldn't work since I work out at my dad's house during that first hour. I don't want to end The Rabbit Hole completely since I just got the Second Life server for it.

UPDATE: I will take this weekend off. Beginning the following weekend, The Rabbit Hole will be on Saturdays from 4-8 PM Eastern.
jcollie719: (Bankrupt Wheel of Fortune)
I transferred $677 of my earnings from my Stash account to my checking account to make up for some of the money I spent on furry art. Tomorrow I'll deposit another $150 since I have three $50 bills in my wallet. I've told the three artists I can't get any more art. I'll block them if they try to pressure me again.

Never mind

My car must have sensed I made a service appointment with the Subaru dealer about the car's "low tire pressure" light. The light turned off while I was driving home from a catering order this morning. I just called to cancel the appointment.

What can I say about last night's show except...it was a show. I couldn't do certain things during the show due to certain factors. Also, the audio glitched a few times because I was trying to run other programs in addition to Mixxx and Second Life. I'll have to use the travel laptop for any additional work I need to do. I actually had to do an extra hour of the show for someone on Second Life who selects DJs.
jcollie719: (Jamie pawpet)
I made an appointment with my Subaru dealer for next Tuesday to examine my car's low tire pressure light.

I will be streaming The Rabbit Hole from a different source this time. I purchased a Second Life audio stream and got it set up Saturday. I did a test stream for about an hour. I'm hoping Second Life and Mixxx can run smoothly on my laptop for six hours.

I had a great Thanksgiving dinner this year with the singles group. In addition to the usual Thanksgiving foods, some guests brought meatballs and lasagna. I got a few compliments on the sweet potatoes I brought. For dessert, someone brought a pecan and chocolate chip pie, which I had a piece of.

I hope my dad doesn't get too upset at me for spending a load of money on furry art. I give him a log of my account activity at the end of every month. I'll be honest with him and say I didn't realize the art would cost as much as it did, and that I won't do it again unless I had a job to pay for it.
jcollie719: (Tiger Jump)
I need to get a new debit card on Friday. I was trying to send a final payment to one of the artists I commissioned, but both CashApp and PayPal thought it was a scam because the artist is in another country. My debit card got locked as a result. It's a shame the payment process has been a huge pain in the butt because the art I received is really great.

In a few hours, I'll peel and chop the sweet potatoes for my Thanksgiving sweet potato casserole. It can cook in the slow cooker tomorrow while I'm working out and doing yard work at Dad's house.
jcollie719: (Hi JCollie)
I didn't realize furry art had gotten so expensive! I had been contacted by a couple artists who offered to make me a ref sheet and other art. I ended up spending roughly $1,100 for three pieces. I let the artists know I wouldn't be able to get any more art for a while. I'll need to do a lot more DoorDashing to cover the costs.

As Roseanne Rosannadanna once said, "It's always something. If it's not one thing, it's another." I thought my computers were set up correctly for doing a co-host show. Unfortunately, Romeo informed me that he couldn't hear me through Discord. After getting advice from Romeo, Boomer and JaSonic, I will shop for a low-cost mixer that can do the job.
