(no subject)

Yesterday after getting home, I walked out of my bedroom and headed for the stairs when I heard my mother making what sounded like pained yelps. At first I thought she was just having trouble breathing. When I walked into my parents' bedroom, I discovered Mom had fallen out of bed and was unable to stand up. (She has ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease, so she has trouble standing and walking, as well as breathing and speaking.) I lifted Mom back into bed, and she had me call Dad to have him come home. (He was at a meeting at a local university where he teaches.) I had trouble reaching him for a while, but I finally got through and let him know what happened. I'm glad Mom wasn't seriously hurt.

One of the people who bid on a DVD I sold contacted me to request a refund because the DVD package appeared to be broken. I offered to refund her money or send a replacement DVD. This, of course, happened a few days after a box of CDs I sent to someone else apparently came open, causing the customer to only get 19 of the 25 CDs. I've mailed replacements for three of the missing CDs and received two more from other sellers. I'm waiting for the final one to arrive before sending them out.

It snowed earlier today. The weather is supposed to get better tomorrow, though. I hope my luck improves with the temperature. Since most bad things "come in threes," I should be fine for a while.
