Glad that's over with
Sep. 10th, 2010 07:41 pmNOTE TO SELF: Don't wait until the week of your speech to write it!
I delivered my second Toastmasters speech today. Even though I had a rough outline finished weeks ago, I didn't actually work on the text of the speech until this Monday. I finished it on Wednesday. However, I didn't practice or memorize the speech beforehand. When I gave the speech, I ended up mostly looking at my written speech instead of the audience. I still won for Best Speaker, though!
I was hoping to bring pictures from my cruises to pass around during the speech. Most of them are on my (still broken) external hard drive. I have some on CD and others on my Photobucket account, but I couldn't find the ones I was looking for and I only had about an hour until leaving for the meeting.
Speech #3 in the manual will require me to speak without using notes. I definitely need to put a lot more effort into this one!
