(Semi-bad) Luck of the Irish
Mar. 18th, 2012 10:08 amWeekly calorie average: 1,929.3
Days above 2,000 calories: 2 (2,010 and 2,067)
I went to the St. Patrick's Day fur meet at Leela's Cafe in Denver last night. From now on, I'll pay the extra $5-8 to park in one of the downtown lots instead of at a parking meter. Even though the hours listed on the meter are 8 AM-10 PM, anyone parked at a meter still has to move his/her car when the time expires, even if that's after 10 PM. The ticket awaiting me when I left the cafe turned a $2 space into a $27 space.
As I was walking back to my car along Champa Street, a homeless man asked me for some change. I said I didn't have any. His response was a bit muffled, but it sounded like "Fuck you, phony sir." I occasionally encountered other homeless on this block in the past when I took improv courses at the Bovine Metropolis, but they almost always responded to rejections with "Have a nice day" or "God bless you." Swearing at someone won't endear you to anyone else within earshot and could get you locked up if a police officer happened to hear you.
