I checked my e-mail account this morning. I saw a message from my boss regarding the weekend shift where I originally asked someone to sub for me, but I ended up being able to work that weekend. I know I didn't handle it perfectly, but I honestly didn't know the sub didn't get my phone message until a few hours before the shift or that he rearranged his schedule to do the shift. My boss made it sound like I deliberately lied about needing a sub by calling me "the boy who cried wolf." I sent a reply explaining what had happened since my boss only heard one side of the story.
