jcollie719After hearing Romeo play the radio-friendly version of Radiohead's "Creep" last weekend, I was reminded of when I played the then-brand-new song uncensored on KEPC. Until recently, I didn't know the radio-friendly version was available on the CD itself because it was an unlisted track.
When I was at KEPC in the early-'90s, the station played the album versions of songs, even those with cursing. I remember asking the station manager about it, and he said not to worry because KEPC's audience was fairly small. Back then, the Birch ratings (Arbitron's competitor, which included non-commercial stations) said KEPC didn't even have enough listeners for a 0.1 rating. Today, KXRE -- which replaced KEPC as the station at the newly renamed Pikes Peak State College -- at least has enough in the Nielsen ratings for a 0.2.
