DSL difficulties at home

When I got my DSL line, I was hoping I'd be able to be on the phone and computer at the same time. Whenever someone calls while I'm on the computer, my Internet gets disconnected. I don't know if I don't have a fast-enough connection, or if something's wrong at the phone company's end.
I was worn out yesterday, so I didn't make any phone calls to business prospects. I signed up for a toll-free number for my businesses. Hopefully this will encourage more prospects to contact me. I just hope my phone bill doesn't skyrocket because of it. Participating in the conference calls on my cell phone is expensive enough.
Even though I increased the tax deduction from my paycheck last year, I still had to pay the IRS about $225 this month.
