The phone company says my DSL line is functioning perfectly, but my modem may be defective. My Internet connection keeps going out. I'll try plugging in a wireless router I have to see if that works. If not, I'll see if I can buy a high-quality -- but still affordable -- modem.

The wireless router I have isn't designed for use with DSL, so I bought a new modem at Best Buy (Not too bad, only $75.) The old modem threw a tantrum while I was trying to have a webcam chat with another person.
