Just before I did my 8:20 station break today, the power and phones in the building went out. The outage affected a few blocks around the station. I wound up making an on-air plea for the station manager and program director to come down to the studio. The station and its programming/equipment stayed on the air thanks to a backup generator, but that gave out just after 9:00. The power came back on around 9:35, and the station was up and running again a few minutes later.

Five days left until my vacation!

My severance pay from Metro Networks was put into my account today. That should hold me for a few months until I find a job. If I find one quickly, I'll use most of the severance pay to pay down my loan and credit card payments.
