Jul. 10th, 2009 06:14 pmNote to self: Continue ACS interview at Pikes Peak Workforce Center, Monday at Noon.
I got up early today so I could complete the tests ACS had e-mailed. In addition to typing tests, I was given a Windows XP operations test and a "call center scenario" test, where I had to listen to three "customers" and take their orders. The first two, identified as being from Connecticut and New York, were very pleasant. The third, from New Jersey, was straight out of central casting for The Sopranos (minus the swearing, but with lots of aggression.) I scored in the high 80s-percentile for the Windows and call center tests. My typing speed was listed as 49 words per minute (I'm a hunt-and-peck typist.)
My interview appointment was scheduled for 1:30 PM, but I wasn't brought into the second waiting room until 4:00 due to the backlog. (I wish I had brought my cell phone to keep me occupied.) Someone came around with a box of snacks a couple of times since some of the applicants had been there since 10 AM. Around 5:30, one of the staff members asked if anyone wanted to reschedule their interviews. I and another person opted to do so. I'm still hoping the company will be willing to work around my weekend schedule (if I have to do weekends.)
Now I'm unwinding at home with some Mandarin orange chicken. I wasn't able to make tonight's Primerica meeting.
