Bumped speech and bump repair follow-up
Dec. 18th, 2010 03:17 pmI had originally signed up online to deliver my next Toastmasters speech on January 7th. When I checked the schedule last week, I found I had been bumped from the schedule by others who signed up at the meetings. I signed up at yesterday's meeting to speak on January 28th. At the request of another member, I signed up as backup speaker for the January 14th meeting in case another speaker drops out. Toastmasters won't meet the next two weeks due to Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
I called USAA a few days ago since I still haven't been reimbursed for my car repairs stemming from my October crash. The other driver gave me a policy number for Progressive insurance. USAA told me the policy belonged to the driver's mother, and another policy under State Farm also allegedly didn't cover the accident. USAA said the matter may be handed over to a collection agency. My unemployment benefits expired a few days after the crash, so paying the $500 deductible (for over $1,900 in repairs and labor) drained my account.
68 days until Furry Fiesta!
