Here's the day-by-day rundown of my excellent time at RMFC:

THURSDAY
There were no traffic jams during the drive to Denver since I left home at around 11 AM. As with last year, I shared Growly's room to save money. The room had five people for two nights and six for the other two nights; In addition to me and Growly, the roommates were Morely Fox, Drake, Tidus Huskey and Kotanu Cheetah (who arrived Friday night/Saturday morning.) RMFC didn't officially start until Friday, but the bi-monthly FoxTrot meet was held on Thursday at the X Bar on East Colfax.

While waiting for the shuttle bus back to the hotel, I saw something which started a stream-of-consciousness dialogue and cracked me up. One person walking past the group on the sidewalk had a small towel tucked into the back of his pants with an image of the Pillsbury Dough Boy. That led me to think "What's the hanky code for the Pillsbury Dough Boy? Is that someone who has sex with baked goods?" I immediately remembered an improv bit about a chef wanting a sex change which included the line "Ayyyy, de BAGUETTE!"

I initially exceeded my planned budget for Thursday, spending $30 for gas instead of $20 and spending $13.85 for lunch and dinner instead of $12. I had budgeted $30 for drinks at FoxTrot. I ended up having only a couple of drinks and spent $9.50, putting me back under budget again.

FRIDAY
I had to take a short nap after the opening ceremonies due to not getting much sleep the night before. I attended the canine panel, where I got a tennis ball with "RMFC 2012" written on it and actually ate a dog treat. There was a room party in one of the suites Friday night. I overdid it a bit on the Jungle Juice. The party got shut down around 10:15 due to noise complaints. I missed the greymuzzle meet that night because I thought it was in the Characters bar/lounge instead of the lobby bar.

SATURDAY
The fursuit parade was today. I remembered to smile and wave at the cameras more. I also got a good spot in the parade photo. When I originally got my con book and other gifts at registration, I was told the Guest of Honor ticket was missing. I initially planned to bring the gift bag (with a note from the registration person) and my receipt showing I paid for the dinner. I dug through the bag again and found the ticket. The suite party on this night ended quickly because the host accidentally sliced his finger open on a jagged metal part in a door frame. The group went to another suite party further down on the same floor.

SUNDAY
I was awakened at 3:30 when one roommates' cell phone alarm blasted the sound of a police siren. I had trouble getting back to sleep, but I managed another 90 minutes after taking a Happy Camper pill. I caught some of the Fursuit Games that day (watching, not participating) and got some on video. The suiters and people watching held an impromptu "last day parade" walking up the hall and back again.

I had gone to Smashburger for lunch. After the games, the other roommates decided to go there. I went with them and got a Nutter Butter shake. I missed Free Can Cook as a result.

Closing ceremonies were short and sweet. The roommates picked up some pizza for dinner, then went to the Dead Dog Dance for a few hours.

-----

The roommate I shared a bed with said I didn't snore. I hope that was true for every night, or it was at least soft enough to be muted by the air conditioner.

I originally budgeted $158 for the convention. I ended up more than $72 below budget at the end. The roommates and I went food/snack/soda shopping on Thursday, during which I bought a couple of instant ramen cups. They ended up being my Friday dinner and Saturday lunch. I also used a tip from another furry who said he buys a Subway footlong sub to have for lunch and dinner (I did that on Thursday.) The suite parties allowed me to save the money I originally budgeted for drinks each night.
