I had an interview today at an employment agency. I had originally applied for a customer service position with Wide Open West cable and completed some tests the night before. When I got to the interview, I was told that I didn't score high enough on the tests. The tests took about three times as long as they should have because they kept repeating questions three or four times. How many times do I need to say I've never stolen money from a workplace or that people shouldn't come to work drunk? Oh, well, it's their loss.

I was given five tests for another employer at the interview. I got a perfect score on three of the tests, 95% on the fourth and 83% on the fifth. This job would only last a month or two if I'm hired, but it's Monday-Friday and has decent pay. After taking the tests, I went to another site and found a radio announcer opening, but it's only on weekends.

A longtime burger restaurant in Colorado Springs closed its doors a few weeks ago. Conway's Red Top had been in business since 1944, selling its giant "one's a meal" hamburgers. I had been to the location on North Carefree Circle a number of times as a kid. I remember ordering just a half burger the first few times since that filled me up.

For my birthday in 2007, my dad ordered some takeout burgers from Conway's; I got the "Senor Red Top." The burger (a whole one this time) didn't seem quite as big. I'm not sure if they got smaller over the years or my eyes got bigger. Some of the comments I read below the news story complained about the former, getting less burger for a higher price. Increased competition from more chains like Smashburger, Red Robin and Five Guys also made it more difficult for Conway's.

Thankfully, there are still some old-time restaurants left in Colorado Springs like B.J.'s Velvet Freez and Fargo's Pizza.
