Almost tricked out of a treat
Oct. 25th, 2019 02:21 pmI almost missed out on a DoorDash Drive delivery today. The DoorDash app wouldn't let me sign in or confirm my scheduled pickup. I drove to the restaurant and still couldn't sign in. The app worked after I updated it, allowing me to complete the pickup and delivery.
The wine bar above La Baguette's Old Colorado City location is closed for renovations. This is the bar where Drinking Liberally meets once a month. One member suggested meeting at the Sweet Elephant bar about a half block away. The group scheduled its November meeting for there as well.
I did some AM radio DXing this week to see which stations I could pull in. I could just barely pull in KNX 1070 Los Angeles and KOKC 1520 Oklahoma City. The former local daytimer on 1530 (KQSC) now operates at night with just 15 watts, so that station causes some interference with KOKC. Some of the other distant stations I received are KRLD 1080 Dallas, WHO 1040 Des Moines and WOAI 1200 San Antonio.
Even though I don't expect any Trick-or-Treaters this year, I bought a bag of fun-size candy for Halloween. I've looked up recipes for using leftover candy (e.g. cookie bars.)
