Narrowly avoided a fire

I almost set my kitchen on fire tonight. I went to heat a pot of water for some pasta, but I accidentally turned on the wrong burner. I didn't realize this until a glass dish on top of that burner shattered and some of the pieces landed on some papers on the counter. I'm lucky I caught it early enough to avoid having to call the fire department.
