More trick than treat this year

I'm going to have to cancel my vacation after all. I sent in the forms required to renew my unemployment claim. The handbook I received says processing a new claim takes 4-6 weeks, but I don't know whether a renewed claim is considered a new one. The next payment for my loan will be withdrawn either on Friday or next Monday, and I was hoping to make at least a partial payoff of my credit card's balance.
