Fell a bit short
Jun. 29th, 2011 01:45 pmSince I was a bit nostalgic this week, here's part of a 2007 post:
I'll go ahead and set a goal today: By the time I turn 40, I'll be able to afford 2 or 3 vacations per year. (I don't have to take them, but I can afford them if I'm interested.)
I haven't quite met this goal. I obviously didn't know I'd be laid off from Metro Networks roughly 15 months after making that post. If I do find new employment this year, at least it will be close to my goal (Better late than never.) Of course, I was only thinking about cruise vacations back then, each of which would have cost at least $2,000 for the cruise and airfare. I hadn't considered furry conventions since I originally thought only people with fursuits could attend. It would be another 2-1/2 years until I bought a less-expensive kigurumi and went to Furry Fiesta.
