One of the managers at my new job told me I'd need to talk to someone higher up in order to be assigned certain shifts on certain days. When I signed up, I said I was able to work any shift (mainly because I was told I'd only work Monday-Friday, but also because I was rejected for previous jobs when I was honest about this.) When I see my therapist next week, I'll see if he can write a note to the company since my Overeaters Anonymous and Toastmasters meetings are therapeutic, helping me with my weight and shyness/anxiety. The company said OA was something they might accommodate, but I don't know about Toastmasters.

The head of the company's local office had left before I could talk to him about what happened at work on Friday, but I was able to file a complaint at work thanks to the other shift leader on duty.

EDIT: The manager I spoke with said an employee having a second job is not a consideration for adjusting the employee's work schedule. They claimed I never told them about my KRCC job. I remember mentioning it in my job interview, and it's printed on my resume. Also, to that manager: You being unemployed for 6 months in your 20s or early-30s does NOT put you "in the same boat" as me. Try getting those same employers to even look at your resume when you're 40.

I will call Vocational Rehab on Tuesday and ask them to find something else for me. Hopefully it's something where I'm not on my feet most of the day. Some days feel better than others, but as I've said before, I want to find a more perfect balance between making a living and having a life.
