I purchased a registration license for my copy of PaintTool SAI on Sunday. I panicked a little because the cost listed in Japanese yen looked really expensive (¥5,500.) Thankfully, that's only about $36.60 US.

I think I'll ask for a new DustBuster for Christmas. The one I got over a decade ago isn't charging anymore. That and more clothes are the only Christmas gifts I can think of.

It's hard to believe it's been over 3 years since Boomer began reading my blog on Doggy Radio. I looked back a few years and found the first post that was read was from October 12, 2020.

Despite being nervous, I think I did well in my interview today. A new company called "Game Show Battle Rooms" will operate group games in Denver that are similar to escape rooms. I should hear back from the company in October if I'm still being considered for a host or co-host position.

When I made some game show icons for Dreamwidth, I wanted to make a GIF of the Price Is Right doors opening to reveal "a new car!" Unfortunately, Dreamwidth has limits of 100 pixels and 60 KB for GIF icons. The lowest I could get without sacrificing quality was 153 KB. I uploaded a still picture instead. (UPDATE: I was able to speed up the video to make an animated GIF less than 60 KB.)

I was looking at past DreamWidth and LiveJournal entries and was surprised by how much has changed. Back in May 2018, I was still working at KRCC, I had had just begun applying to work for various delivery companies and my mom was still alive. Ten years ago, I used my tax refund to buy the laptop I'm currently using. Fifteen years ago, I was a news writer for the local office of Metro Networks in addition to working at KRCC, and I was looking forward to a Halloween singles cruise later that year.

I'm brewing a pot of coffee at the moment. I wanted to finish off the pitcher of "Purple Rain" vodka lemonade tonight, but I'll save half of it for the end of Doggy Radio. The pitcher had more servings left than I expected!

Even though the winter solstice is around December 21st, I noticed the sun will gradually set later beginning December 12th. I'm not affected by the later sunrises this winter since I no longer have to wake up around 5 AM to go to work on weekends.

I've had LiveJournal/Dreamwidth tags for "Mom" and "Grandma" but no other family members. I made a new "family" tag for when I blog about family members. Actually, seeing the family and food tags together on December 10th reminded me of the Sesame Street sketch "Family Food." That was a parody of "Family Feud" and featured a cameo by Richard Dawson.
jcollie719: (Birthday Collie)
I upgraded my Dreamwidth account Monday night so I could upload more icons. I uploaded a few icons from my old LiveJournal account plus a few new ones. The "birthday collie" today is for my dad's 86th birthday!

I think I've pinpointed why I avoid family gatherings and certain public events. I prefer to attend events where I have a sense of control and security, and I like to feel comfortable with my surroundings.

I brought my car into the shop today for some needed repairs. The shop will replace some of the B's: belts, bulbs, brakes and (wiper) blades. I'll get the car's oil changed tomorrow.

Since I did this on LiveJournal about ten years ago, I am looking through my 2011-present entries on LJ/Dreamwidth for a recap of my 40s. My old memories seem to mirror my current wishes, including wanting to find a higher-paying job, move into a larger house with a garage or start my own radio/TV station.

I only got a few hours of sleep last night because worries about money kept me awake. I saw a furry blog about switching to science and technology jobs, but that doesn't sound like something I could do. I'm not proficient in any programming languages and can barely operate a laptop.

I did a DoorDash catering order in Denver this morning. I delivered a large box of Chipotle food to a pet grooming salon. While driving away, I saw someone had painted a collie on one of their dumpsters! I made a few more small deliveries for another hour. I napped for about an hour after getting home to make up for last night's lack of sleep. I signed up for another catering order tomorrow morning.

On Sunday, I had accidentally burned a bag of popcorn. Tonight I put a new peppermint oil plug-in into my living room's air freshener. It already smells much better in here!

My Dreamwidth account is almost ready. I signed up for an account Tuesday night, and everything except the journal comments have been transferred from LiveJournal. (The comments began loading a few minutes ago.)

Since Rocky Mountain Fur Con is kaput, I was looking at other conventions I might like to attend. Biggest Little Fur Con is less than two months away. However, I'd like to find something later in the year this year. Attending an October con would depend upon when KRCC holds its Fall membership drive (usually the end of October.)
