It turns out a Greyhound bus ticket would be cheaper ($144 if booked more than 14 days in advance.) Of course, the trade-offs: No overnight motel stays, no showers and very limited meal options. At least on Amtrak I can pay extra for a bedroom and have meals and showers on board.
I'd also have to leave on the 23rd with Amtrak and Greyhound, while I could leave on the 25th with a flight. I can deal with airline peanuts and (if there's time) a meal or snack at the connecting airport. Five or six hours in the air sure beats two or three days on a train or bus.
I don't know how many times I've told Freddie about my work and sleep schedule, but he keeps forgetting I GO TO SLEEP AROUND 2-3 P.M. ON WEEKDAYS! I had just fallen asleep yesterday when his call woke me up. I wound up being unable to fall asleep again. I'll be doing an extended sleep today (unless Freddie decides to call again.)
I received another call from the dating service over the weekend. I was matched with a woman from Westminster (just north of Denver.)
