Since last weekend's shifts at Luce were canceled, I called on Sunday to schedule my shifts for this week. Monday and Tuesday (when I usually work 3-5 PM) were already full, but Wednesday through Friday were still available. I signed up for the full 3-10 shift Wednesday and Thursday. My therapist told me today I should have one day per week where I'm not working at Luce or KRCC, which is usually Friday. As with last week, I may do Friday from 7-10 again to make up for not working Monday or Tuesday.

The dating service found a new match for me. She lives in Colorado City (about 70 miles south of Colorado Springs) but works in Pueblo, so she said she'd be willing to drive up to Pueblo to meet. When I called either her home or cell phone number, the on-hold music was Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back." If she really does like big butts, at least I have that to offer! She said she needs to find out when she needs to work during the next week or so, then she'll call me back to schedule the date.

Speaking of big (though gradually getting smaller) butts, I only had 1,570 calories today to make up for having 2,420 on Sunday. I used some of the ingredients left over from my Fiesta Roll-Ups (the appetizers I made for the Howl-O-Ween party) and some tortilla chips and cheese dip to make nachos. Most of the ingredients are low-calorie and/or low-fat.

As of Tuesday, only 107 days until Furry Fiesta!

The dating service called with another match for me. This one lives in Windsor (north of Denver and a bit south of Fort Collins.) According to the service, she will meet me in Denver.

The service originally called me to update my credit card information, as well as charge me $99 for a background check. Just what I need, another bill! The earliest I can make a payment to my credit card is Monday. When the service calls back with my date's contact information, I'll let them know they can charge my card on Tuesday.

I checked my account balance this morning. My unemployment pay from last week was finally put into my account.

The last match from the dating service hasn't called me back after saying she would do so. I'll call her again tomorrow if I don't hear from her tonight. The service also found another match for me. Sometimes I swear the service monitors my bank account, then finds a bunch of matches whenever the balance is low.

The dating service found a new match for me. Thankfully I will get paid on Thursday, so I can afford to go out. At least I don't have a monthly $198 loan payment any more!

I'm a little bit early with this, but Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] bucktowntiger !

The dating service called yesterday with two new matches for me.  I arranged to meet the first one tomorrow at 11 AM.  After hanging up, I realized I have a Toastmasters meeting at noon.  I'll call the members and let them know just in case I end up missing the meeting.

EDIT:  My date called around 8:45 AM to ask if she could postpone our meeting.  She said she forgot about another meeting she had planned weeks before.

I received some sad news earlier today. One of the people I met on previous singles cruises died this week. I was told he became ill on a New Year's Eve cruise and was airlifted to a hospital, where he died a few days later. This person went on several cruises each year. He was lots of fun to be around and always made everyone feel welcome. He was the perfect example of forgetting your troubles and leaving the drama behind when going on a vacation. I hoisted a drink tonight in his memory. I only hope I can be as carefree as he was when I get to be his age (63.)

The dating service e-mailed another match to me on Saturday. I called her today, explaining that the dating service had matched us up, and she immediately hung up on me. I may be jumping to conclusions here, but I took that as a sign she wasn't interested. I guess it would have been too much effort for her to actually say that. Seriously, how tough is it to say "No thank you, I'm not interested"?

The dating service matched me up with a woman from Broomfield over a week ago. I've called her three times and left messages on her machine with no response. I'll try calling her again tomorrow afternoon after work, then contact the dating service if I don't get a response by Friday.

I need to wake up between 7:00 and 7:15 a.m. for my new job. I don't know if the employees are allowed to eat at their desks since they have to talk on the phone, so I'll either have breakfast at home or get something on the way to work and eat it in the car.

Earlier this morning, the dating service called me with another match. At least now I know I'll be available for it. The woman I met tonight was honest with me and said she wasn't interested in seeing me again. I appreciate honesty instead of the "Oh sure, you can call me," followed by endless calls to an answering machine with no response.

I took an on-and-off nap from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., so I'll just stay up tonight before going to work. During the nap, I dreamed I was on a talk show. I admitted that I ate my mother's birthday cake, and the show host called me a cannibal. When I asked how that made me a cannibal, the host replayed my confession, but clipped the end of it off so it sounded like I said "I ate my mother."

:b

I really need to work on carrying on a conversation.

The dating service found a match for me. I'm glad I'm still in the system! Now I just need to get myself psyched for the date. I still need to pick a nice restaurant or coffee house to meet at.

The dating service found another match for me. Unfortunately, the woman lives in Grand Junction, over 300 miles away in western Colorado. If she actually does agree to meet with me, I need to find a meeting place (maybe between Denver and Vail.) Hopefully it won't snow before the date. I'd hate to risk driving more than 100 miles on icy roads just for a date.

My date went well. I was nervous, as usual, but I didn't recall any long silences except when we were both eating. I offered to call her next week, so I hope to see her again.

I only got a few hours of sleep before the date. Thankfully, I didn't yawn in front of her.

It turns out a Greyhound bus ticket would be cheaper ($144 if booked more than 14 days in advance.) Of course, the trade-offs: No overnight motel stays, no showers and very limited meal options. At least on Amtrak I can pay extra for a bedroom and have meals and showers on board.

I'd also have to leave on the 23rd with Amtrak and Greyhound, while I could leave on the 25th with a flight. I can deal with airline peanuts and (if there's time) a meal or snack at the connecting airport. Five or six hours in the air sure beats two or three days on a train or bus.

I don't know how many times I've told Freddie about my work and sleep schedule, but he keeps forgetting I GO TO SLEEP AROUND 2-3 P.M. ON WEEKDAYS! I had just fallen asleep yesterday when his call woke me up. I wound up being unable to fall asleep again. I'll be doing an extended sleep today (unless Freddie decides to call again.)

I received another call from the dating service over the weekend. I was matched with a woman from Westminster (just north of Denver.)

The dating service found another match for me (One that lives in Colorado Springs!) After getting home from work Sunday, I was debating whether I should call her then or wait until Monday...when she called! We arranged to see a movie this Friday.

As I said before, I kept the $3,000 for my loan payment in my account to gather interest. I got a whopping 14 cents! Oh well, I suppose it's better than losing 5 dollars for not having the minimum balance. I'll make the loan payment on Friday the 13th, so I hope keeping it in the account an extra two weeks will raise my average balance and next month's interest payment.

206 days until the Halloween cruise! There were only 6 people on the online cruise chat last night since most of the others are on the April 1st cruise. At least this time, my accounts should be in better shape (Thank you, Dad!) I only hope my body is in better shape as well.

I received another match from the dating service yesterday. The service said this woman pre-approved me, so I hope that's a good sign. My $84 transfer from PayPal into my checking account should happen Thursday or Friday, which would give me enough if we schedule a date for this weekend.

I slept almost the entire day after getting home yesterday, so I should be able to stay awake this morning to follow up with more of my web business prospects. I need to sign up at least two prospects by August to guarantee I can afford the Halloween cruise, just in case the Trek settlement doesn't arrive by then.

Sharon is back at work! I thought she had quit for good when Robin left, but she was either on vacation or was able to be lured back.

I hope this stuffiness isn't a cold. It doesn't feel like one, but it feels slightly worse than a normal stuffy nose.

Ick! A high of only 8 degrees on Friday?!

A while back, I saw a clip of Tyra Banks giving her audience diamond-studded jars of Vaseline on her talk show, then screaming and rolling around. Unfortunately, I found out later it was all staged (a parody of Oprah's car giveaway.) That's a shame. Real wackiness is so much funnier than fake wackiness.

There's a message on my machine from the dating service. They found another match for me.

Justin "Dick In A Box" Timberlake is 26 today, and Fidel Castro has an artificial anus. Those two things aren't related; I'm just typing random thoughts.

Oh, man. I can't wait for my Trek settlement to arrive. I hope it arrives within the next two or three weeks, but I was told it would arrive sometime between this February and next August.

I got a voice mail from the dating service during my vacation. Since I'm still recovering from a cold, I'll ask my potential date if we can meet sometime next week. My cold is on the way out. I still have some congestion and a tickle in my throat.

I'm still trying to get back into my work routine. I barely got any sleep Monday night, and I only got about 4 hours last night. The VCR at work also lost power yesterday, so I have to scrounge around on the Web to find local news stories.

Third time's a charm...hopefully! My latest match from the dating service returned my call yesterday saying she had to work this weekend. She offered to call me back when she would be able to meet with me.

The wholesale DVD company I began dealing with sent me an e-mail saying my first order of 50 DVDs has shipped. I've done all right selling some of the other stuff I bought, including the angel visor clips and mailbox decoration kits. No one has expressed interest in the patriotic buttons and flag pins, which surprises me. I thought those would be the hot sellers.

I rejoined the discount CD club I formerly belonged to. The club doesn't seem to carry a wide assortment of titles, which is why I originally left. Others were marked as "premium" CDs (despite not having any bonus tracks or features), meaning they could only be sold at regular price.

I've applied for a "payday loan" to help one of my checks clear and to get my credit card balance back below the limit. My accounts will be on life support if the loan isn't approved. I wish the dating service had allowed me to make two or three separate payments instead of paying everything at once.

Later today, I'll call the woman I was supposed to have lunch with last week to see how she's doing. If she's over her cold, I'll arrange another lunch date to meet her in person.

I haven't heard from the Denver stations I applied for a job at (KBRU & KSIR.) They aren't officially up and running, just testing their signals with a jockless format. A few days ago, I sent my resume and aircheck to Alice 105.9.

The dating service selected my first "match" over the weekend. We both talked on the phone, and I offered to take her out to dinner Wednesday. Unfortunately, she came down with a cold on Monday, so she said she'd call me back later this week.

It actually took me three tries before I had enough courage to dial her number. After the second try, I wrote down some of the things I wanted to say so I wouldn't panic as much. I got her machine, but she called me back later.

My eyes were burning and watery this morning. At first I thought it was either a cold or allergies. After a few moments, I remembered I had put my face cream on before going to bed, so some of it must have accidentally gotten in my eyes.
