The combination of my pending unemployment, yesterday's unsuccessful date, my inability to find full-time jobs I qualify for, my unhappiness with my body and almost every other recent event in my life has got me feeling depressed. I've screamed a few times (no one else is around) to try to release some of the tension.

I found some local listings for data-entry jobs, but those sound like rip-offs since the ads promote making money instead of describing what the jobs entail.

The "scam" of HD radio

My mood has improved a bit, despite a call I just got. A listener called the studio to ask about KRCC's HD2 signal. This woman, after hearing she needed an HD radio to get the signal, decided it was a scam and "another way for Colorado to make money." Apparently she doesn't realize radio (and TV) stations nationwide are adding HD side channels, including her former home state which she claims "never did anything like that." HD is being added at both commercial and non-commercial stations. Also, the money used to buy a radio doesn't go to the state (Okay, they get the sales tax, but not the rest.) I've created a new "wtf" tag for things like this.

"The Splendid Table: The program for people who love to eat." That's me! The hosts are advising listeners to avoid restaurants which replace Cs with Ks in their names (e.g. "Kountry.") An exception one host gave was an Oklahoma restaurant with good food and service called "Kum Back Lunch." You wouldn't want to begin that with a C, anyway.

I've Done 70 of the 120 stupidest things. (Damn, I'm boring!)
