I hooked up my DVD player to the component input on my living room TV, but the picture is grainy and black-and-white. I'll check to see if the DirecTV receiver has a component input. I'd like to watch a few DVDs before going to bed. If I can't solve the picture problem, I'll go ahead and watch the DVDs on my laptop.
