Is that an alarm?

I'm at work right now, and I'm hearing what sounds like an alarm in the distance. It can't be the fire alarm, because there's a speaker for the alarm in the hallway and it's not making any noise. I wonder if it's either a burglar alarm, or if someone opened one of the emergency exits.

A co-worker just came in. The fire alarm on the second floor was going off. Probably a false alarm.
