No luck on the job front
Nov. 11th, 2008 05:42 pmMy dad saved today's want ads from the local paper for me. I'm looking through them and can't find anything (seasonal or permanent) I would qualify for. The only one that comes close conflicts with my weekend work schedule. I've tried to contact the state unemployment office for the past two days, but the phone lines are always busy.
I thought looking at the photos others took on the singles cruise would cheer me up, but it's only made me sadder. Instead of thinking "what a great time that was," the thoughts popping into my mind are "why can't I afford a nicer cabin like they had" or "everyone likes them more because they're thinner and have better jobs."
On the bright side, I saw something I never thought I'd see again: Several gas stations in town are selling regular unleaded for less than $2 per gallon! Okay, it's $1.99 and 9/10, but that's still less. I definitely need that now since I'll likely be doing a lot of driving to job interviews.
