Still waiting for something
Nov. 24th, 2008 10:54 pmI forgot to apply at the company offering (ick!) telemarketing jobs last week. I'll drop by there Tuesday.
Unlike previous years, I don't have an overnight job to use as an excuse for skipping out on Thanksgiving dinner. Why did the company have to do so poor financially?
I wish the world view I was taught as a child was more realistic. I grew up believing I would fall in love in high school (I did, but was constantly rejected,) marry my high school sweetheart, then have kids, live in a house and have a secure, well-paying wonderful job. Almost everyone loved each other and there was no poverty or prejudice. Also, the few bad guys were easy to spot because they were pudgy and wore black and white horizontally-striped shirts and black masks. I'm not sure exactly when I figured out things weren't really like that (I'm guessing somewhere between 4th and 8th grade.)
