My dad said he'd try to come by the condo today to see what's wrong with my dining area light. A few days ago when I turned it on, I heard a loud POP! followed by smoke rising from one of the bulbs. I got the same result when I replaced it with a lower-watt bulb, and even without a bulb. I don't know if there's a wiring problem or if a small insect may have found its way into the socket and fried itself.
I used a small lamp to provide light to the area, but I've switched that with my bedroom lamp since it uses a brighter bulb.
