Still looking for a job
Jul. 13th, 2009 02:51 pmThe good news is...I only had to wait a little over an hour to be interviewed by ACS (the call center hiring 600 people) this time, compared to 2-1/2 hours last time.
The bad news is...I was told my past work experience didn't really qualify as "customer service" experience. I've helped dozens of people who called into KRCC seeking information about upcoming events, and I've worked the phones during pledge drives. I've dealt with callers who were very pleasant as well as those who were downright nasty. (At another job, I even answered a call which turned out to be a bomb threat.) Sounds like I've given service to lots of customers. I thought this job would save me, but it turned out to be a mirage.
On the bright side, I got all the ingredients I need for a black bean salad, and I got home before it started raining!
