My first two hours today at KRCC were interesting. As I was driving to the station, the overnight DJ was saying the satellite which receives BBC and NPR programs wasn't working. The satellite was filled with snow. I attempted to brush out as much as I could, but I could only reach the lower half and the signal didn't come back on. I wound up using the BBC's Web site to play the World Service programming at 5 AM, then I used another NPR affiliate's site to play Weekend Edition. I had turned on the satellite's cue speaker to monitor when the signal came back on, which it did around 6:40. The signal was spotty at first, but it cleared up about 7-8 minutes later.
