A past wish came true
Mar. 14th, 2011 11:16 pmFrom a July 2009 post listing the reasons I want to lose weight:
When traveling in coach class airlines, I want to actually be able to fit comfortably in the seat and put the tray table all the way down. I'm also sick of the looks on other travelers' faces who are thinking "Oh, great. Look who I get to sit next to."
I was comfortable for the most part during my flights to and from Furry Fiesta. I was able to put the tray tables about 98-99% of the way down. Sucking in my gut a little let them go all the way down. As for the thought of "Look who I get to sit next to," I think I was the only one thinking that on the flights home. One flight had dozens of 12- to 16-year-old cheerleaders who were in Dallas for a competition; the other flight had a guy who got drunk and sometimes cursed and made lewd comments, but was otherwise nice (He paid for my drink.)
I believe the electrical cord and battery from my laptop are the causes of its recent problems. The laptop kept instructing me to recalibrate the battery every time I started it up, and it kept switching to battery power when the cord was moved. Since the battery (which has been in the laptop since I got it back in 2002 or 2003) didn't have much juice left, the screen went almost completely dark. I ordered a new battery and installed it after it arrived today. The laptop still switches to battery power if the cord isn't perfectly snug. This happened a couple times before, and the problem went away after replacing the cord both times.
