Will work for convention funds
Nov. 25th, 2011 08:58 pmI made a goal in 2010 to attend one additional furry convention per year. Of course, that was back when I thought I'd be able to land a job that would actually last and/or pay well. Since I'm having trouble on the job front, I decided to list which cons I wanted to attend in 2012, the odds of attending them and any backup cons I've considered in place of these.
Furry Fiesta (February, Addison [Dallas] TX) -- 20%
This was the very first furry convention I attended in 2010. This one allowed me to meet Bucktown Tiger and a few other Shopwreckers in person for the first time, and also see Sub-Level 03 and Matthew Ebel performing live. This year, though, I run the risk of not finding a job in time to save up for the con or not being allowed to go on vacation so soon after being hired.
Megaplex (July, Kissimmee FL) -- 0%
Maybe next year.
Rocky Mountain Fur Con (August, Denver CO) -- 95%
No airfare cost, only an hour away, and I could share a room with someone to save money if necessary.
Oklacon (October, Watonga OK) -- 40%
I loved this con and would like to return. The drive to/from Colorado Springs is about 9-10 hours, and I saw a few furs I recognized from Furry Fiesta and RMFC. If I can make it this year, hopefully my budget won't be so tight.
BACKUP CONS
Furry Weekend Atlanta or Furry Connection North: in place of Furry Fiesta
Midwest Fur Fest: in place of Oklacon
