A little bit of heaven
Dec. 14th, 2011 11:48 pmMy car is all fixed now. In addition to getting the alignment realigned, the mechanics spotted a leak in the oil filter and drain plug possibly caused (according to them) by the mechanic i saw in October tightening something too much. They also replaced the rear brake pads and drive belts. The overall cost was $363, compared to a previous mechanic's estimate of over $1,100. It'll still drain my account, but my overdraft account won't have to take as much of a hit.
The dealership told me there was a recall for the one-way fuel valve on certain Subaru models, including mine. The part couldn't be replaced today because my gas tank was nearly full. I was asked to bring my car in again once I have less than half a tank. I planned on seeing my co-worker's band in Denver Thursday night, but I'm not 100% certain if I can make it. That would definitely use up about one-third of the tank.
