A couple of soda-free days
May. 19th, 2012 10:07 pmWeekly calorie average: 1,857.9
Days above 2,000 calories: 2 (2,245 and 2,390)
I managed to go two days this past week without drinking soda. Of course, that's because I drank it all during the beginning of the week. I am trying to cut down since my weight loss has reached a plateau (stuck between 252 and 255.)
My Toastmasters group isn't meeting for a couple of weeks. This Friday was due to two members graduating from college, and next Friday is the weekend before Memorial Day. Last night after dinner, I went to the Black Sheep club to watch my co-worker's band. They and another band opened for the New York-based group Eve To Adam.

Date: 2012-05-20 08:42 pm (UTC)Coke Zero, Diet Dr. Pepper, Fresca, A&W Diet Creme Soda are some of this wuff's favs.
When Vargr does choose to "indulge" in a rare treat, it's nearly always one of those odd micro-brew or specialty sodas, just to get something exotic and unusual for a rare treat. Stuff like Fentimans "Curiosity Cola" or "Dandelion & Burdock". Or a Faygo "Red Pop".
Or one of this wuff's very favorites - DeDe's Basil Seed Soda, a nearly uncarbonated, sweet, somewhat banana flavored, fragrantly basil drink with what looks like frog's eggs filling the bottom third of the bottle. Great just for the "freaking the mundains" capability of it! *giggles* But really a delicious drink in its own right, though very hard to find now that the Asian Market on Platte (near Wooten) stopped carrying it.

Date: 2012-05-24 12:43 am (UTC)Vargr particularly likes Ramune as well. And they have a lot of yummy flavors in addition to their "original". This wuff finds their grape a very nice change from the 'normal' purple types - with a distinctly 'white grape' flavor.
That Asian mega-mart off Platte stocks a bunch of those. They also stock "DeDe's" but apparently no longer stock the basil seed version. They're not a bad place to browse for 'soda weirdness' (not to mention food weirdness!) when one get the urge.
World market is a great source for "weird soda-ness". Their only problem is that they don't tend to keep their stock long. So if you find some version you like, you might want to stock up before they switch shelf space to something else.
