Search, apply, get rejected, repeat

The only suggestion the past few counselors have had was "look online for jobs and/or call the companies to ask if there are openings." I've been doing that since even before I was laid off from Metro Networks. The rare times that actually produced a job opening, my follow-up letters, e-mails and calls to the companies were either never returned or I was rejected immediately. If online job searches actually produced great results, I wouldn't need the help of a counselor.
I've found two openings at local radio stations. I'm still waiting to hear back from SoCo Radio about any possible openings there.
