One job journey just ended

jcollie719For only the second time in five months, I got through to a live person at SoCo Radio. This company owns four radio stations which recently launched: Easy 101.3, Power 103.3, KCEG 780 and KJME 890. I had sent the company my resume in April when I read a story about the first station's launch, and they mentioned they were looking for employees at the other stations.
I kept leaving messages for the staff members since I always reached a voice mailbox when calling. Before today, I only got one return call from an employee there. He said more hiring would take place in July and August.
When I called today, the person who answered said "We're not hiring right now, but we'll call you the next time we are." Why didn't they call me the last time?
I had high hopes this company would be the one to give me a chance. I'm really disappointed that this company, like some of the others, would rather let machines do most of their jobs to save money.
