RMFC 2013: The Case Of The Disappearing Roommate

I got home from Rocky Mountain Fur Con around 10:15 AM. This year, I stayed in the room of a Pueblo fur named Lukos. The other two roommates were Drake (who also stayed in Growly's room with me last year) and Diego. Oddly enough, Lukos ended up staying in someone else's room after we all checked in, giving me a bed to myself.

I decided to skip a few Friday panels due to being tired, opting for a nap instead. I had an excellent time at 2 The Ranting Gryphon's comedy show Friday night. The greymuzzle meet was originally scheduled for Friday night, but the Facebook announcement said it was postponed until Saturday. (I didn't see this announcement until I stayed in the lobby for a while.)

I went to the Dealer's Den on Saturday since I heard 2's show would be for sale on CD. 2 wasn't at his table during the times I went in. At the Guest Of Honor dinner that night, 2 said the first batch of CDs sold out, but another batch would be available on Sunday. The people who run the FoxTrot fur meet were selling posters of the promotional graphics made for each meet. I got the DJ poster on Sunday since that was my favorite. I came back at 3 PM Sunday when 2 was at his table and got the show CD plus his newest DVD.

I attended Casino Night on Saturday. There were roulette, blackjack, poker and other tables. I was given $200 worth of chips. There was only one poker table, so I had to wait a while for a seat to open up. I managed to win a few hands. On the last hand, I went all in but busted out. After chilling in my room for a bit, I went back down and waited in the lobby for the greymuzzle meet. Only one other person showed up.

I was under budget for Thursday through Saturday since I brought my own cereal for breakfast and didn't have any drinks until Sunday. I forgot to budget anything for Dealer's Den shopping, so the poster/CD/DVD buys put me $30 over budget that day. For the entire con, I finished $39.25 under budget.

I didn't attend the closing ceremonies this year, but it was previously announced that RMFC 2014 would be moving to a new hotel (I had read it would be the DTC Marriott.) This year's RMFC topped 1,000 attendees, and there were 190 suiters in the fursuit parade.

That's true. I kept forgetting to look at people's badges when they said "Hi" to see who they were. :)
