Blah-O-Ween
Nov. 1st, 2013 02:32 pmMy Halloween this year was fairly uneventful. I answered phones for KRCC during the morning, then napped for a bit at home. I had my hopes up for getting at least one Trick-or-Treater since I finally got one last year. No one showed up this time.
"Turn Up The Night with Kenny Pick" had a special Halloween night episode featuring some old radio shows, including the 1948 CBS broadcast of "The Thing on the Fourble Board" from the show "Quiet, Please."
My sleep schedule is usually thrown off during KRCC's membership drives. The late morning/early afternoon phone shifts are reserved for volunteers, so I can only sign up for 6-9 AM and/or 3-7 PM. I'm only available for the evening shifts on Wednesdays and Thursdays (except this week since I wanted to be home for Halloween.) Even on nights when I get 5-6 hours of sleep, I find myself needing afternoon naps.
