Surprise, but not for my birthday.

Mid-week birthdays aren't as exciting for me. I had a German chocolate brownie for my actual birthday dessert, then had a small celebration at my parents' house on Friday. I got another pair of sweatpants like the pair I got for Christmas.
The day before, I had some blood drawn as a follow-up to my latest physical. The lady drawing the blood complimented me on my fingernails and asked if I get manicures. My nails are usually uneven, but I recently trimmed them to all be (roughly) equal in length.
I looked at the Toastmasters roster for upcoming meetings and found I was listed as a speaker on February 7th. I haven't given a speech in over a year because I've been too stressed out by my struggle finding full-time employment. I hope I'll be able to at least come up with a topic sometime this weekend.
