Tuesday, Bloody Tuesday

jcollie719I went to the emergency room Wednesday morning.
Twice on Tuesday, I found blood in the toilet after having a bowel movement. My first thought was I either had hemorrhoids or a new frozen dinner I tried gave me food poisoning. Looking online, I found hemorrhoids and food poisoning as possible culprits, along with ulcers and other conditions. An exam today confirmed I had hemorrhoids. The physician recommended using a stool softener for a couple of weeks and some dietary changes, then scheduling a follow-up appointment with my primary doctor.
I'm thankful it wasn't serious enough to require surgery.
