Feb. 15th, 2007 12:01 amNote to office supply stores: When selling an assortment of cardboard mailing boxes, offer sizes that actually fit in mailboxes. I was looking for a 4 x 4 x 8-inch box, but the closest I could find was a 6 x 6 x 12. I needed to mail two of these boxes, but both won't fit in my home mailbox and neither will fit in a public mailbox. I'll need to (ick!) stop by the post office later today to drop them into the giant mailbox there.
I rescheduled my next Visa payment for March 5th so I could make a MasterCard payment tomorrow. I wanted to have money available for a date. I also scheduled a second MC payment for next week so I can (hopefully) pay for the pre-cruise package.
One of the banner ads I've been seeing on this site lately is a quiz asking which state is the furthest east. It's kind of a trick question because Maine would be the furthest east if you measure from the geographic center of the U.S., but Alaska is furthest east if you measure from the Prime Meridian (some of the Aleutian Islands cross into the Eastern Hemisphere.)
