Happy Birthday to Bucktown Tiger!

My new Blue Snowball microphone arrived today. The picture included with the e-mailed shipment notice showed the package was accidentally left on my neighbor's porch.

A few weeks ago, I ordered a pack of refills for my plug-in air fresheners. The package arrived this week, but it was damaged and only had one of the five refills I had ordered. I sent a message to the refill company to see if I could get a refund for the missing four.

Last week's calorie average: 1,847.9
Days above 2,000 calories: 1 (2.130)

I found work substitutes for RMFC weekend. I received one of the items I ordered for the convention and I'm waiting on two more items (one for the con and one for home.) UPS shows one of the packages was shipped to Colorado Springs on the morning of the 17th and was "out for delivery." Two days later, the package was scanned in Buffalo, NY. The estimated delivery date was revised to the 24th. I need to get a haircut this week since it's been about four months since the last one.

PAY for Sunday, August 7: 8 hours (5 AM-1 PM)

I need to buy an envelope that's at least 5-by-7 inches. I received a card addressed to someone in a completely different part of town. The address was written in very sloppy handwriting, so I'm guessing either a computer scanner or nearsighted postman misread the street name as the one where I live. I will put the unopened letter inside a second envelope and write the address neatly so it goes to the right address this time.

Is it just me, or would the theme to "Curb Your Enthusiasm" make the worst background music for a porn film?

So, UPS e-mailed me back to say when a package is delivered to an apartment (as my latest DVD was), it's dropped off at the leasing office when the recipient isn't in. I hope it's there. I'm fed up with the delays I've had to deal with in this case.

WTF again?!

The person who bid on a DVD I auctioned on eBay e-mailed me yesterday saying he/she still hasn't received it. I sent it via UPS (using the very expensive overnight shipping option) and the UPS site says the package was delivered. Either this person's address was misprinted, or I'm being scammed.

Note to office supply stores: When selling an assortment of cardboard mailing boxes, offer sizes that actually fit in mailboxes. I was looking for a 4 x 4 x 8-inch box, but the closest I could find was a 6 x 6 x 12. I needed to mail two of these boxes, but both won't fit in my home mailbox and neither will fit in a public mailbox. I'll need to (ick!) stop by the post office later today to drop them into the giant mailbox there.

I rescheduled my next Visa payment for March 5th so I could make a MasterCard payment tomorrow. I wanted to have money available for a date. I also scheduled a second MC payment for next week so I can (hopefully) pay for the pre-cruise package.

One of the banner ads I've been seeing on this site lately is a quiz asking which state is the furthest east. It's kind of a trick question because Maine would be the furthest east if you measure from the geographic center of the U.S., but Alaska is furthest east if you measure from the Prime Meridian (some of the Aleutian Islands cross into the Eastern Hemisphere.)
