I had a great time in Pittsburgh this weekend. Unfortunately, I couldn't work out a time to pay Boomer a visit.

I was hoping I wouldn't need to use a seat belt extender since I was flying in First Class with wider seats. The seat belts were still a bit short.

I had dinner Thursday night with the singles group at Mezzo at Sienna Mercato. I'm glad I had lunch on the flight because service at the restaurant was SLOOOOW! I ordered the polpette appetizer (meatballs stuffed with mozzarella) and a salad.

The group went on the 'Burgh Bits and Bites Tour on Friday. It was nice to sample some of the local businesses' foods like the sausage from Parma Sausage, fresh-made hummus from Labad's Grocery, and Jimmy Sunseri's pepperoni roll from Sunseri's on the Strip.

Friday night was the dinner cruise. I got to have dinner and drinks while traveling on the three rivers around Pittsburgh: the Ohio, the Allegheny and the ... Magilla Gorilla?

On Saturday, the group went on a tour of the Wigle Whiskey Distillery. I got to sample some of the whiskeys and other spirits made here, and I purchased bottles of the coffee liqueur and cinnamon whiskey to take home.

I went to PNC Park on Saturday night to watch the Mets and Pirates. The home team wasn't as lucky tonight since they lost 5-1. I had dinner with the group afterward at Mike's Beer Bar.

I had a great time, though my back and ankles hate me for all the walking I did on the various tours. One of the group members said he used to have the same problems and recommended getting custom-fitted shoes. I hope I can make this trip again. If I do, I will make sure to stay until Monday or Tuesday, even if that means changing hotels on Sunday.
