There was a little stress this morning, but everything's been smooth otherwise.

Carlos 'n Charlie's in Cozumel was a blast.  I was among the first cruisers to arrive, so I got one of their tall margaritas and relaxed for a bit in a beach chair.  Unfortunately, the clouds hid the sun for a while.  I decided to go back in to get some food and another drink and (surprise!) the sun came out.  By the time I finished and paid for my food, all the beach chairs were taken.

I went on the Altun-Ha rock tour in Belize the next day.  The site is the excavated ruins of a prehistoric Mayan village.  In addition to viewing and learning about the stone structures, the group was able to climb the steps to the top of some of them.  The Mayans were obviously in better shape than I am, because each step was 1-1/2 to 2 times as tall as most modern steps.  I still managed to make it up and down in one piece, getting more exercise in 30 minutes than I have in the past month or so.  I'm surprised I still have knees left.

Today's stop in Roatan was the slightly stressful (at first) one.  To begin with, the entire ship had a deck party the night before, and I stayed up until about 1 a.m.  I woke up just before 8 a.m., when the group was supposed to meet in the disco before heading to the beach party.  I hadn't had any breakfast nor taken my medication, and I wound up snapping at one guy who asked me whether I was in line for the beach party.  I first told him I had just gotten there and didn't know if there was a line yet (everyone seemed to be scattered about instead of lined up.)  When he asked again, I yelled "I DON'T KNOW WHERE THE FUCKING LINE IS, OKAY?"  I walked away but felt bad about what I said, but when I walked back, I couldn't find the guy to apologize.  I discovered I still had half a bottle of water in my excursion case, so I took my medication to avoid any further eruptions.  The rest of the day was okay.  In a case of bad timing, there was light rain, clouds and wind until right before the group left the party.

I basically booked excursions at each stop because I don't know if I'll be able to afford a cruise next year.  With the early meeting times (and late partying times) that puts too much stress on me.  The next time I cruise, I'll just book excursions at half of the stops and sleep in the other days.  I could always go shopping in the ports if I want to get away from the ship for a while.
