I was worried that my suitcases wouldn't have enough room for the rum cakes I bought in Grand Cayman.  I also had about a fourth of a bottle of cashew wine from Belize, but I polished that off during a final night party in someone else's room last night.  The cruise directors (Shelby, Tara, Ernie, Ingrid and Page) did an excellent job, and all the cruisers were marvelous (I apologize to the few I snapped at.)  I soooooooooo want to do next year's Halloween cruise if my job situation gets better in the next few months.  The cruise will be a bit more expensive since it's an 8-night trip instead of a 7-night one, but it goes to Cozumel and two ports I've never been to before (Limon, Costa Rica and Colon, Panama.)  It's also on the fairly new Carnival Freedom, which is bigger than the ship I was just on.

I was awakened during the final night by a bad case of acid reflux.  I called the purser's desk to see if they had any Rolaids or Mylanta, which they didn't.  Room service didn't have anything helpful like seltzer water, either.

As for the trip home, I forgot to sign up for Carnival's Luggage Express program which would have automatically sent my bags to the airport.  Still, I celebrate the miracle that is airport curbside check-in.  I did a small load of laundry on the ship the night before, so I had clean underwear to wear with the second suit I brought.  I forgot to have my room steward do my laundry halfway through the trip since I couldn't find the special bags they have for it.  One note I've made for "cruise planning" is to pack one pair of underwear for each night of the trip, plus two extra.

Some more cruise planning tips:
* Find or buy a smaller and lighter case for your suits
* Bring a travel alarm and a night light (depending on the type of cabin)
* Unplug the electrical cord from the laptop computer before packing it, or find a lighter equivalent like a PDA or the camera card-to-CD writer
* Bring Rolaids

Speaking of the laptop, it's still kaput.  I'll be taking it and the cord to a shop to see exactly what's wrong and whether it can be fixed.
