jcollie719I wanted to pass along the details of this auction. This Colorado Springs artist is a fan of My Little Pony and Doctor Who. She is auctioning a custom-painted blue pony with a Tardis for the "cutie mark." Proceeds will go to the local Red Cross to help victims of the Waldo Canyon Fire. The auction will begin on July 4th and end on the 14th. Starting bid is $10.

The Waldo Canyon is currently 55% contained and has burned over 17,000 acres. Almost 350 homes in northwest Colorado Springs and surrounding areas were completely burned, with an unknown number of homes sustaining smoke and/or heat damage. Two people were found dead inside one of the homes late last week. Some residents have been allowed to return home, but about 10,000 remain evacuated. Tonight, the estimated containment date was moved up from July 16th to the 11th due to the progress made.
