My weather forecast originally said snow would begin falling on Saturday, but the city got some snow on Friday as well. I'll be making some DoorDash and GrubHub deliveries this afternoon. I originally planned to deliver on Sunday as well, but I have a meetup with a few friends that afternoon.

The Conan O'Brien stage show last night in Boulder was excellent. I decided not to wear the panda kigurumi. That turned out to be wise because it would have been hot and uncomfortable, not to mention inconvenient for using the restroom. Instead, I wore a bright orange shirt.

I won't give away too many details to avoid spoiling it for those with tickets to future shows. Opening act Reggie Watts did some funny musical numbers, including a curse word rap using a vocal loop sampler. Following the band's opening number, Conan came out and made jokes about Boulder's laid-back reputation ("hippies snowboarding on granola,") Colorado's high altitude/thinner air and his NBC settlement. Andy Richter had many funny bits, including one called "What I've Learned." Tonight Show writer Deon Cole did a great stand-up act. Other bits and characters from the show made appearances, including the "Walker Texas Ranger" lever, The Masturbating Bear and a taped message from Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. Conan and the band also did several musical numbers. Overall, the show was well worth the price of a great seat (6th row center stage.) The drive to Boulder was only about 90 minutes. The drive home took a bit longer, both due to being late at night and taking a couple of wrong turns in Boulder.

I found my backup WiFi adapter this morning. Its software is still on my computer, so I no longer need to run AOL first to get a connection.

I took a Unisom last night to ensure I got a decent night's sleep. I woke up at one point and was afraid to go back to sleep for about an hour because I had a nightmare about Michael Jackson's doctor saying he slipped "a little something extra" into my Unisom. In spite of this, I slept for about 5-6 hours.

I'll be driving to Boulder tonight for Conan O'Brien's comedy tour. The tour's website didn't list the scheduled show in Denver, so I didn't know about it until after I bought a ticket for the Boulder show. Google Maps says the trip will take 1:50-2:10, but I could probably manage it in 1:30 or so. Since the stage show uses the "Self-Pleasuring Panda" (the Masturbating Bear in disguise,) I considered wearing my panda kigurumi to the show. I'm not sure if it would be allowed, though. I don't want to risk being denied entry and wasting the money I spent for a good seat.

* Anyone who looks at this entry has to post this meme and their current wallpaper.
* Explain in no more than five sentences why you're using that wallpaper!
* Don't change your wallpaper before doing this! The point is to see what you had on!

I've always used unusual pictures for my wallpaper, so I figured "Asphyxiate Me Elmo" would fit nicely. This was one of the "new stamps" featured during a bit on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" years ago.

Welcome to the 3:30 News.  I'm your anchor, R.U. Blondallover.
  • 14:17 Broke open package of Easter pasta for lunch. Pasta in the shape of eggs, bunnies, chicks and carrots. Topped with Worcestershire sauce. #
  • 15:27 @BigBley Ooooooooo! Ahhhhhhhhhhh! I love the quote about the stage & doorway being big enough for "circus animals & Conan's hair." #
  • 15:30 Fullbars arrived today. Hoping these will aid me with (and help me stick to) my diet. #
  • 18:53 Fullbar is working so far. Took 2 hours ago & ate a Lean Pocket. No desire to snack. #

In other news, the total bill for my medications was $126.  The generic Xanax and Buspar together cost about $14, while the Tegretol was about $112 (almost 1/3 of the regular price.)

[Error: unknown template qotd]I've only met some local celebrities (news reporters, deejays, etc.) My name is entered in a contest to meet Conan O'Brien when he visits Denver, so I'd love to win that.

A short time before taking over as the new host of The Price Is Right, Drew Carey appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien during Conan's "In The Year 2000" bit. One of Carey's "predictions" was the creation of a new TPIR game called "Two in the Plinko, One in the Stinko." After hearing that, I imagined a contestant wearing that phrase on his/her shirt. I finally got around to creating that visual with my sucky graphics skills...

Sugar beet beet sugar beet sugar beet sugar BEET BEEEEEEET!

I filled in for Greg this morning at KRCC. As I left for the station, I noticed the porch light bulb which was guaranteed to last "up to 7 years" had burned out after about 48 days.

Conan O'Brien's last "Late Night" episode is tonight. Whilst watching a "Satellite Channels" bit on an old episode, I just noticed the heavy metal guitar music used on the "Let's Go Unshredding" channel is the same music used on the "Clive Clemmons Inappropriate Response" channel, but sped up a bit.

Here's my more recent (sad) attempt at drawing my Kukido (Cookie Dough) Leopard character...

As you can see, I didn't bother putting the chocolate chip pattern on him, although I drew how the random spots should look. At the right is Kukido's head with a Conan O'Brien-like pompadour.

Eeeeeeeee!

Here's an avatar I created of the shrieking raccoon with a jet pack from Conan O'Brien's show. (The one I have as a userpic is a lower-quality version.)

I considered taking a bath today to relax myself, but I opted instead for a shower and the brandy-filled chocolates I got for Christmas.

I was unable to view the New Year's fireworks show on Pikes Peak because a few of the condo buildings block my view. I watched the Dick Clark special and rang in the New Year by drinking a "Blue Hawaiian" wine cooler. I wish Conan had been able to do a "Central Time Zone countdown" this year. I hope they go back to that next year instead of using Carson Duh-aly.

I think I need to bring either a Xanax or St. John's Wort pill with me to work. I seem to become panicky between 3:45 and 5:00, sometimes leading to seizures.

I read that Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien will be doing new shows again (without their writers) beginning January 2nd. I think David Letterman is coming back also, but I forget if a date was announced. It will be nice to have new shows again.

I filled a box with items I don't use anymore (all but a couple are in perfect shape) to give to Goodwill. I've gone through about half of the bags/boxes of my stuff, so there might be more items I can give away.

Jay Leno is rebroadcasting some of his early, early shows due to the writers strike. It would be great if Letterman, Conan and SNL did the same thing. I watched Conan for a bit during his first year, then resumed watching in 1997 or 1998. I'd love to see Conan (and Andy) from about 1995 to 1999, as well as Letterman in his first few years at CBS when he put a lot more effort into his show.

Tonight's Conan rerun was the episode where Quackers the duck took a dump on the floor then stuck his beak in it.

I'll do my best to have a positive attitude about my job. Even though no one's here at night to watch me complain about it, I'm hoping being more positive will somehow encourage the company to give me a raise. I've gotten lots of positive feedback from the stations which use the news service, so I know I deserve a higher salary.

Actually, I was hoping I could animate my FOOT up your ass! BAM!

This was one of the channels on Conan O'Brien's "Satellite Channels" bit a year or so ago. I finally got the hang of the graphics programs I've been using to make this avatar!

Conan O'Brien did another installment of "Stump Max Weinberg" last night (the sketch where Max is placed in a soundproof booth, then others talk trash about him.) The segment had even more problems than the last time they did it: The booth was wobbly and the door came open, then La Bamba flubbed one of his lines.

I transfered the $100 from my overdraft account into my checking account. Even though pay day is tomorrow, I want to make sure I have enough for my last bill of the month on either the 13th or 16th. When I make my loan payment tomorrow, I'll see if I qualify for additional funds. I still have some of my watches left from an unsuccessful auction, so I plan to put those up on eBay again.

I slept all morning yesterday and my DSL stopped working for a few hours, so I didn't make any prospecting calls. There's another group prospecting call tonight at 5:00. I still need to ask my sponsor about the lead service he recommended (I believe it's called Santiago Leads.) I couldn't find a website with that name.

23 days until the cruise! I only wish I didn't have to wait until at least February for the Trek settlement so my accounts and credit cards could have some breathing room.

My grandmother and one of my uncles will be visiting in a couple of weeks. They're only staying for two days, though.
