The WebGuest on Pawpet IRC is still requesting color drawings of various characters. I don't know if he knows that Romeo has moved on, but his requests come as I'm trying to run the Rabbit Hole. This sometimes affects both the show's flow and my overall mood as I go back and forth between the show and the drawings. Sometimes I miss conversations in IRC because I'm busy drawing. Of course, I need to use Pawpet IRC so Ricochet can link me to his Radiolawn episodes.

I should get a drawing tablet since the IRC WebGuest is asking for more color drawings. My usual routine for drawing and sharing the pictures is:

1. Draw the objects with a pen and paper
2. Take a picture with my phone camera
3. Share the picture with my Telegram account
4. Copy the picture from Telegram to Microsoft Paint
5. Make any edits and (if requested) color the drawings
6. Save the picture and upload it to Photobucket

The photos I take usually end up with an off-white, gray or yellow background. I don't get a nice white background to make coloring the pictures easier on the computer. I have to manually erase the background in certain areas to make them white for filling in with color. Drawing directly to my computer via a tablet would make things much easier by eliminating some of the above steps.

"Cor, that was a loud one."

There was a brief thunderstorm an hour ago. One of the lightning strikes was close enough to create a REALLY loud boom from the thunder.

The IRC "WebGuest" who asks me to draw things for him usually signs on an hour into The Rabbit Hole. Last week, he signed on about an hour into the SECOND half of the show. I had put my drawing supplies away by that time since I thought he had gone to sleep. I'm glad I was able to draw what he wanted since I was a little confused about the request he gave last time.

I spent some time unclogging the drain in my bathtub Sunday night. Every time I try to clean my tub, the drain backs up due to being full of hair and other crap (literally.) I managed to get most of that out so the water would actually drain. The front of the tub is now clean, and I'll take care of the back tonight or Tuesday.

Ten or more years ago, there used to be an IRC chatter during Funday Pawpets, Radio Unifurse and the Rabbit Hole who lived in Pueblo, Colorado and was a white wolf. I was supposed to see him in person years ago at a Denver event, but he was unable to make it. Another former IRC chatter I remember was a corgi who would announce that he was launching himself across the room with his farts. I don't know why I suddenly remembered those two chatters, but they just appeared in my memory.

Whoops!

I inadvertently got banned from the Pawpet IRC channel this morning. Boomer was talking about the Peteena the poodle doll from the 1960s. I found a picture of the doll's box that described her as a "swinger" and thought it would be funny to share. Unfortunately, the IRC's spambot filter saw the page link I posted and kicked me out. Ricochet said he was also banned for posting the show's link in the topic.

Speaking of Pawpet IRC, one of the chatters who asked me to record the first part of Doggy Radio for them asked me to send the audio files via Telegram instead of Discord. This is actually easier because Telegram has a 2 GB limit for sending files, compared to only 25 MB for Discord. I have to split the file into two or three files and resample them at a lower rate to send on Discord.

After looking through the Funday Pawpets episode list, I found a specific parody song I was looking for: A parody of The Monkees' "I'm a Believer" called "I'm a Retriever." Unfortunately, the artist's name was not listed and it's not coming up when I search the lyrics. There are other parodies with this title, but they're not this specific one. I've tried to Shazam the song, and also looked on YouTube and Dr. Demento's site. No luck. I later thought the song was by Trout Fishing in America, but I don't see it on any of their albums either.

Only 29 days until my singles cruise reunion in "Pizza-Baggu!"

I had put a Christmas song from the "Oh! Pawpets" show in my playlist for the first hour. When I saw that "Oh! Pawpets" was streaming a Christmas repeat. I added another song from the show during my second hour.

My audio during most of my show was good. I started to get "crunchy" audio again during the second half. Refreshing my audio settings made everything smooth again.

I reserved a ticket to see the movie "The Bad Guys" Tuesday night. The IRC chatter who asks me to draw for him asked if I could draw Diane the fox from the movie next week. I'm not sure if he wants Diane drawn in her business clothes or evening dress.

During BigBlueFox's Saturday music stream, BBF played the song "Critical" by Ellis Moss. I can't find the lyrics anywhere, but part of them sounds like he's singing "J. Collie!"

The Sunday potluck went very well. The bar baked a pizza, and others brought green chile chicken, lasagna, and veggies with hummus. I had a couple of the bar's "Dunkelweizen" beers. The bar owner has a friendly and well-behaved Pomeranian.

"I almost forgot, fellow babies: BOOGERRRR!"

The IRC chatter who asks me to do drawings had a new request last weekend: a color drawing. The chatter linked to a kangaroo drawing, then asked me to add wings and color it blue like the flying kangaroo in "Pinwheel." I've never seen that show and couldn't find any information about it online. I just drew the black-and-white outline for the kangaroo, added wings, then colored it using MS Paint.

I caught a cold over the weekend, but it seems to be on its way out.

Due to security reasons and limited staff, the NIST doesn't offer tours of the WWV station in Fort Collins or its other stations. There are pictures of the stations on the NIST's web site. I don't see any information about tours offered at the "Pueblo 81009" building, but it's near the Pueblo airport.

I'm assuming the IRC chatter who asks me to draw for him thinks I'm younger than I actually am. The chatter asked if I knew about Baby Bear from Sesame Street. I stated that I wasn't sure if he was on the show when I was a kid. Baby Bear debuted in 1991, and I only watched Sesame Street until the early-1980s.

I might pick a different day to do a music show. The Rabbit Hole has moved its former Saturday show to Monday afternoons. I wouldn't be able to do a show prior to Romeo's because I usually sleep in on Mondays after Doggy Radio. Any future shifts I'll be doing at KRCC will likely happen on weekday afternoons. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday nights would be the easiest show times, along with Saturday prior to 10 PM Eastern (Steelwoulfe's game night) or Sundays before 6 PM ET (Oh! Pawpets.)
jcollie719: (Christmas Collie)
Note to self: Mix corn with Lipton onion soup mix. This was the recommendation from KuddlePup years ago I kept trying to remember.

It's starting to snow again. I have enough food for this week. I'll need to shop for next week on Wednesday or Thursday since I have to fill in at KRCC on Friday instead of having dinner with Dad. Tonight's OA meeting was cancelled due to people being unable to attend.
jcollie719: (Christmas Collie)
I ordered the "Oh! Pawpets" show's Christmas CD "Oh! Chwistmas" for my music collection. If I am able to do a music show around Christmas, I'd love to pair Wham!'s "Last Christmas" with the Oh! Pawpets parody "Gassed Christmas."

The G-Men are playing Saturday night at Mother Muff's. I hope I'm awake enough to attend.

FoxTrot wound up being pretty good this time. The back patio at Hamburger Mary's was crowded, though it spread out more inside after 10:00 when the drag queen event had ended. I had two rum-and-cokes and a plate of loaded "Ta-Ta's" (tater tots.) The special pins made for the event had sold out before I could get one. The only thing about Mary's which sucked was it only had street parking. I just barely squeezed into a space near the bar after circling the block a few times.

In a bit, I'll make a few DoorDash deliveries in Castle Rock before Oh! Pawpets starts. (Apparently, OH! Pawpets isn't on this week, so the Woulfe Pack channel is airing an FPS rerun.)

My therapist has moved to a new office. I scheduled an appointment with him for September 6.

I don't think there will be a Jackbox game night tonight since Steelwoulfe is at Anthrocon this weekend. I'll be going to a singles meetup tonight instead. I need to bring my change jar to the credit union after work today to put some money into my account.

I'm glad the DenFur Telegram chat has banned some of the Furry Raiders. I wish the FPS chat would take a similar stance on the bullies there (One of the bullies is an admin.) I left the chat earlier this week due to one member being abusive.

While my rental car was at the car wash last Friday, I bought a car cell phone holder that attaches to the A/C vents. Having the phone closer to eye level will allow me to use the GPS without taking my eyes off the road, and also hear any directions or other audio better. Also, the A/C can cool off the phone since it occasionally gets hot when operating/charging in the car for a while. The cell phone battery I ordered on Amazon was out of stock, so it won't arrive with the SD card and a new mouse. I found another seller and ordered a battery there.

This weekend, the owners of the furstre.am web site shut down the site. As a result, the Funday Pawpet Show decided to shut down after 17-18 years. I began watching FPS in 2009 and made it part of my regular Sunday night entertainment. I'll definitely miss it.
jcollie719: (Collie Lick Sign)
I basically went to FoxTrot as myself last night. My rental car is a bit smaller than my main car, so the fursuit case wouldn't have fit in the back. It would have been too hot to wear my kigu, and I forgot to wear my collie tail. I got more fluffy hugs this time from local furs who recognized me, as well as furs who had been away at BLFC in June. A local community radio station, KOMF-LP 104.7 actually broadcast live from the Wrangler during FoxTrot.

The usual Sunday furry entertainment took a break this weekend due to Megaplex. Doggy Radio will begin in about half an hour.

jcollie719: (Jamie pawpet)
I forgot that my therapist's office had moved to a new address. I went to the original location at first, then looked up the new address on my phone.

I missed the Tuesday fur meet, but I'll be going to the Thursday pizza meet near my home. I'll catch The Psychedelegates on Friday night at a bar near Powers and Galley, then FoxTrot is Saturday night.

I just got some sad news on Telegram. Richard Concepcion, the puppeteer who hosted the "Rapid T. Rabbit & Friends" show for over 30 years, has passed away. He was a guest on one of the first "Funday Pawpet Show" episodes I watched, then I found out Rapid's show preceded FPS.
jcollie719: (Jerzei head)
I partially suited last night at the FoxTrot meet. The fursuit's case just barely fit in my car's back seat; I had to move the driver's seat forward and force the case in a bit. The case is 20 inches wide, so I will look for a case that's only 16-18 inches. I didn't see as many friends at the meet since some of them are in Reno at BLFC. I had a cheeseburger, a couple of rum-and-cokes and a few glasses of water before putting on the suit's head, hand paws and tail. There were no chairs in the headless lounge, so I skipped putting on the foot paws. My belt broke during the meet, but it was able to hold my tail for the 20-25 minutes I was in suit. It was slightly dark in the club and difficult to see without my glasses. I got a few hugs and at least one person took my picture. After getting out of suit, I realized I had forgotten to put on a fresh layer of deodorant before the meet. Also, the burger made me a bit farty for a while. I'll do a better job of pre-meet bathing from now on.

R.I.P. Bandit, the border collie belonging to Funday PawPet Show founder Yappyfox.

UPDATE (8:35 AM): I found a couple of Rubbermaid containers that would fit my car: the Roughneck 66-quart tote (16.5 inches wide) and a large FlexTote (15.7 inches.) The latter has a zipper closure to make it more secure for flying. Both are clear.

Furry Weekend Atlanta and Motor City Fur Con are taking place this weekend. Because of that, some of the weekend furry shows were off. Bungee Skunk hosted a Jackbox Games stream since Steelwoulfe was away. The Funday PawPet Show stream was supposed to auto-play a rerun, but there was only a black screen after the "Let Your Love Flow" intro played. Fred Bedderhead had his own stream going. I tuned in for the beginning but left to nap for a bit.

Winter appears to be gone for now, though there has been a brief return in late-April in past years.

I've been turning off my front porch light before going to bed for the past few days. My bedroom window faces my front porch. While this can act like a night light, I think it's also affecting my sleep pattern by tricking my mind into thinking it's still daytime.

One thing I like to do in my spare time is to "go back in time" to look at old LiveJournal entries to see what has changed and what hasn't. I also add tags to any old entries where they're missing:
--Last year around this date, the "Colorado Furries Plus" group was shut down due to trolls reporting some of the images posted. I was invited to a private Facebook chat group with the group members, which caused me to not get much sleep that night.
--Five years ago, Melting Temple (a co-worker's former band) released their "Hunter's Moon" EP and held a release party/concert at the Ancient Mariner in Manitou. The band asked me to wear my panda kigurumi to the concert (I had skipped a fur meet to attend) and I got to dance on stage to some of the songs.
--Ten years ago, I was growing tired of being manipulated by a woman who claimed she was needing money for food, medical bills and other expenses. The first few times she asked, I felt sorry for her and sent the money. When the requests started becoming more frequent and she ignored my pleas to stop bugging me, I blocked her and shut down my Camfrog account. I started calling her "hney" because of how she constantly misspelled "honey."
